Day one and Day Two

Well the surgery went well.  I started the day at 4:00 am getting ready for the event.  I called it an event because it was.  It was not the easiest decision that I had made in my life but it is something that had to be done.  I had been fighting problems with my right foot for years and this last time was the worst .  They had put me in that crowe boot again and this time it had been on almost 7 months. So I had been reading articles about foot issues when I found one about Charcot foot.  I asked my doctor about this disorder and after some examination it was decided to send me to the hospital, mainly to rule out infection.  All tests were done over a 3 day period and after all the testing it was determined that I did not have an infection.  But during this stay I was able to see a specialist who talked to me about options.  First option was reconstruction which would take up to two years , constant cast ands 1% chance of walking . The other option of course was the amputation.  So after a conversation with Kera we decided that the amputation was the way to go.  I decided to wait so I could get some things prepared not just at home but with work also.  May is Maytag Month was coming up along with the New KitchenAid Launch and of course the National Sales Conference.  I then scheduled the surgery for May 12th  and starting preparing for the life change this will bring.
Second day consisted some walking and sitting in the chair.  Pain is moderate and controlled but of course I have had the sensations of my foot still being there which is very strange.  Slept throughout the day and was visited by the appliance team from theLowes store in Bellefontaine and my good friend Eli Williams
